The Linn Health Care Center in East Providence has been awarded a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. This prestigious honor is awarded to the top 10% of all nursing homes in the United States and means that a facility ranks “much above average” compared to other nursing homes.
The Five-Star Rating System was developed by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid to allow consumers to compare nursing homes and to foster improvements in the care provided by nursing homes. It is based on rigorous health inspections, quality measures and a survey of the staffing hours of registered nurses and other health care professionals.
The average number of health deficiencies in Rhode Island in 2013 was 2.2 and for the United States it was 6.8. Linn Health Care Center had none.
“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare and it is a direct result of the hard-working and dedicated staff we are fortunate to have here,” attests David R. Velander, Administrator of the Linn Health Care Center.
Linn Health Care Center is an 84 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center with semi-private and private resident rooms, which boasts a mission of ensuring that all residents receive the best treatment and care during recovery from illness or injury in a homelike setting.
